Trailheads and Parking
The Great Lake-To-Lake Trail Route 1 (GLTL Trail) is populated with trailheads and parking areas to make access easy and convenient. Trailheads are open to public, connect to the trail, and most offer shelters and restrooms. Parking areas are on or near the trail and include paid lots. Also shown on the map are nearby Amtrak stations. They are ride-share hubs and near lodging making them ideal for trip planning.
At these trailheads you'll often find historical markers placed in collaboration with the Michigan History Center that connect people to the natural and cultural heritage of the places they are passing through. The map of current markers can be found here.
